Africa's Moonshine Epidemic by vice news

Ugandans are the hardest drinking Africans in the motherland, both in terms of per capita consumption and the hooch they choose to chug. Waregi, or "war gin," is what they call the local moonshine, and it makes the harshest Appalachian rotgut taste like freaking Bailey's.

Pakistan After Bin Laden by vice news
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-W_kAfRLlQ
Suroosh Alvi of VICE travels to Bin Laden's infamous compound to see what people really think about living next to America's most vilified fugitive. Unsurprisingly, their concern lies less with the proximity of Bin Laden than the chaos that his death has sparked. Although the controversy over whether or not Pakistan was harboring Bin Laden and the "trust deficit" is the primary focus for the American media, Pakistani news is busy covering the onslaught of violence that has broken out since the May 2nd raid. The people have seen a marked increase in American drone attacks, while the Taliban continues its retaliation with a relentless wave of suicide bombings. Anti-American sentiment has never run higher and this turbulent nation clearly has bigger issues than Bin Laden's death to contend with.

Ground Zero Syria is a series where we've compiled photojournalist and videographer Robert King's footage into a series of raw, largely unedited vignettes that present a snapshot of the ancient city as it crumbles and burns while its citizens are killed indiscriminately.

North Korea has come up with a new way to bring cold hard cashinto its isolated country: export North Korean workers to slave away in the Siberian forest (often without telling them they're no longer in North Korea). We set out to investigate these camps and almost landed ourselves in quite a bit of trouble.

Mutiny In The Maldives by journeyman pictures
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akxK-jS9_is
Military coups and violent protests are not what you'd associate with the Maldives. However, on this island paradise a lethal cocktail of wealthy businessmen, Islamic hardliners and corruption lie behind the coup.
The country's first democratically elected President, Mohamed Nasheed, says he was forced to resign at gunpoint in a coup backed by Islamic hardliners. They were backed up by brutal former president Gayoom. Unfortunately for Nasheed, as he tries to call for a return to democracy, his opponents have wealth behind them. "Four resort owners funded the coup." International concern is growing over the future security and democracy of the islands, so what does it all mean for the Maldives?

Jewish settlers in Palestine: the most notorious squatters in the world.
Israeli settlers have been slowly nibbling away at Palestine's West Bank territory for four decades. 300,000 setllers now occupy outposts that range in size from plywood shacks to full-blown suburban housing complexes. Their abundance has grounded the much-ballyhooed two-state solution to a halt. VICE correspondent Simon Ostrovsky travels from Tel Aviv to the remote West Bank outposts where young Israelis squat for the sake of their heritage. But first, Simon pops in for some quick counter-terrorism trainingwith a member of Israel's Special Forces, just in case.
